Marikorea Monument

The Marikorea Monument is the Philippines' first structure honoring the 7,000 Filipino soldiers who helped defend South Korea in the bloody Korean war in the early 1950's. Measuring about 26 feet tall, the monument is crowned by an eternal flame atop a granite pylon.  It can be found within the Evolution Park in Marikina Heights. Click here to know to how get there.

Evolution Park

Evolution Park is a lush landscaped haven. The dairy-farm theme, complete with 18 life-size replicas of cows, pays homage to the beginnings of the Evolution Park as the then-only grazing farm in the city.

To get to the Evolution Park, you can ride a jeep with a Tierra Monte signage and get off at the C&P Mall, also know as S'Mall. You can also ride a jeep or an FX going to SSS Village. Get off at Meralco  corner of Molave Street.  Then ride a tricycle located right next to Jollibee and get off at the C&P Mall.

Cityhood Park

You will find this monument when you are passing by the city's Sports Park in Sto. Nino. This is called the Cityhood Park, and it symbolizes the continuing saga of the Marikenos; the struggles and triumphs of their forebears, their new-found dynamism in transforming their community and their resolve to create a stronger future.

This park is highlighted by a 12-meter concrete monument, featuring a gigantic, left-handed clock and the twelve windows from which hang carillon or Italian bells that chime nationalistic music.
