Directions: Tumana

Filled under: , ,

How to Get to Tumana, Marikina City?

Tumana is one of the largest and most densely populated barangays in Marikina. Formerly a sitio of Concepcion Uno, it has grown into a thriving residential community with its own schools, public market, and neighborhood centers. Situated near the Marikina River, Tumana is well known for its strong community spirit and strategic location between Marikina and Quezon City.

A bridge connecting Tumana to the Balara area of Quezon City has greatly improved accessibility, providing motorists and commuters with an alternative route and helping ease traffic congestion in surrounding areas.

From Cubao
From Aurora Boulevard in Cubao, ride a jeepney with the Parang Lamuan signboard. This is the most direct route to Tumana, passing through A. Bonifacio Avenue in Barangka.

You may also ride a jeepney bound for Montalban. Although the trip is slightly longer, it will still take you to Tumana via Marcos Highway and Gil Fernando Avenue.

From Manila
From Manila, take a jeepney with the Parang Lamuan signboard to reach Tumana through A. Bonifacio Avenue. Alternatively, you may ride a Montalban-bound jeepney, which passes through Marcos Highway and Gil Fernando Avenue before reaching the area.

From Monumento or Fairview
By bus: Take a bus bound for Cubao. Upon reaching Aurora Boulevard, transfer to a Parang Lamuan or Montalban-bound jeepney.
By train: Take the MRT-3 and alight at Araneta Center-Cubao MRT Station. From Aurora Boulevard, ride either a Parang Lamuan or Montalban jeepney.
From Alabang, Pasay, or Makati
By bus: Ride a bus heading to Cubao. From there, take a Parang Lamuan or Montalban-bound jeepney.
By train: Take the MRT-3 and get off at Araneta Center-Cubao MRT Station. Travelers coming from Alabang may first take a bus to Magallanes before transferring to the MRT. From Cubao, board a jeepney bound for Parang Lamuan or Montalban.

The Parang Lamuan route remains the fastest and most direct way to reach Tumana, while the Montalban route offers an alternative approach through Marcos Highway and Gil Fernando Avenue. Both routes provide convenient access to Tumana's residential communities, schools, public market, and the nearby connection to Quezon City.

An Innocent Smile

Filled under: ,

I remember watching Uncle Bob Lucky 7 Club when i was little and each week they would pick the best smile among their kids audience and its audience would show their sweeest smiles to the camera. This is my new feature in this site and I will call it the Smile Pictures where Marikenos show their best smiles.

This is the best smile that I've seen so far since I've started the Marikeno blog. I saw this Tumana kid when I was taking pictures of the river during the recent typhoon. I will post more smile pictures in this blog. Hope you will like this.

Goodbye Chedeng, Goodbye Dodong

Filled under: ,

People of Barangay Tumana are still busy moving on with their lives after Chedeng has left the country, while Dodong is still currently spotted in Batanes area.

This photo was taken in Tumana River. A man was trying to catch fish, taking advantage while the water current in the river was still strong. This gave him the chance to get a good catch for today.  Chedeng and Dodong had killed two, while 53,000 people were affected.
